LinkedIn Optimisation: Building Connections On LinkedIn

ree

A Quester's Paradigm...

This week, we are continuing our discussions on ‘LinkedIn Optimisation.’ Ensure to read our post on ‘Building Your LinkedIn Profile.’

Your connections on LinkedIn are your network. It is important to be strategic when building your LinkedIn connections.

(1) First, connect with the people you know on LinkedIn; they are more likely to accept.

(2) Don’t be afraid to send out new connection requests.

Note That: There is a limit to the total number of connection requests you can send out per time so be moderate. Never send out up to 100 connection requests at a time.

(3) Target individuals that are in line with your career path and send connection requests to them.

Note That: Never send connection requests randomly; you are building your network so be intentional.

(4) Add a note when sending out a connection request.

Note That: This is especially important when sending out requests to people you do not have a personal relationship with or influential personalities. Explain in brief sentences what attracted you to their profile and the mutual benefit you foresee from the connection.

(5) Engage posts on your feed and hashtags you follow. Add reactions and make comments.

Note That: The more you engage, the wider your profile visibility. Soon, the number of connection requests you receive will be greater than the number you send out.
